Disable Send button might reduce double posts

I see many double posts here and I have managed to create some too. The reason seems to be that sometimes a new post takes long time to show up and meanwhile there is no indicator that shows that the button was clicked.

Maybe the problem can be reduced if the "Send" button gets disabled when the the user click on it. It would both inform the user that the button actually was clicked and probably make the user more patient.

Good idea, I could go for this.

or simply have the server check the timestamp and origin of the post and refuse multiple posting for a defined time lapse

I was postponing this type of thing for when I would redo the forum, but maybe I can have a look and sort it out quickly.
