Custom Background with Blender Template
IstakaCiti a commencé cette discussion dans Model Export and Render

Can someone explain how to replace the background (like Scrubs this render http://mecabricks.com/en/models/6mLvzqMqjAw#b34dnV). I can only change the background color but not able to figure out how to replace it with an PNG/JPG image.

Scrubs?

That is probably just an HDRI. Put in an hdri you like (some good free ones here https://hdrihaven.com/index.php) and make sure the background is not set to transparent. Check out cynaptic's post. He explains it better. 😛 http://mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/364

@ MalMan35, thanks for the pointers, i tried HDRi I got the basic idea but for some reason the final render is coming out of very bad quality (for same settings with HDRi). Will check Cynaptic's post.

When you say bad quality what do you mean? Low lighting, pixelated, lots of fireflies (noise)? Could you show an example of what you mean?

For my render that you mentioned, I used the quick and dirty way. This is just an image imported as a plane in Blender.

@ MalMan35: Thanks for keeping up with me

I have shared couple of snaps @ https://goo.gl/photos/jDNU35bqBX5JXeRN9
I tried a small test model and with this seems to be working fine i.e. I don't see any quality issue). I guess its not the problem with blending but the way I have setup the scene.

@ Scrubs, thanks for the info, let me try that out, getting high resolution images is much easier then high res HDRi's.

@IstakaCiti
No problem! Glad to be a help.
I see what your saying about the dimly light lighting. If you look at cynaptic's post he explains how to turn up the brightness of the HDRI. (Or just check out this pic http://i.imgur.com/JdwlTs6.png)
However the more you turn up the brightness you will start to lose a lot of detail so I would highly suggest using Filmic Blender. It is super fast to setup and make a big difference. http://mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/560

Oh and if you use depth of field (also in cynaptic's post) you don't really need to have a super high-res hdri cause the background will be a little blurry.
