Run Script Problem
Brickproject a commencé cette discussion dans Model Export and Render

Hi all mecabricks fans! 😃 I have a little problem for rendering my lego model. When I click on the run script button (as in the tutorial made by Scrubs) the is a python fail error.
The problem on the script is the following:

Colour material

if splitName[0] == 'Colour':

line 21

Please could you help me? Thank you

Hello.

Maybe it is silly checks, but are you sure that:

  • You imported a collada version of your model in Blender.
  • You moved all the parts in the "Model" empty object.
  • This is a clean template (you cannot not run the script multiple time)

It is a good starting point.

Did you already managed to make it work before? Maybe try with something very simple like just a couple of bricks and if it works, it means that there is an issue with a special part that we would need to find.

Hi Scrubs!
Thank you for the quick answer!
In fact the first time I used your template the run script button worked (and the result was amazing)! But the next day when I exported a new lego model after clicking on the run script button an error message appeared! Then I decide to test re-open my fist blender model and the run script button even not work. I can't understand : I tried many models but the run script button not worked.

  • Yes I imported a collada model (geometry)
  • Yes I moved all the parts in the model

Try to re-download the template.
You can only use the 'run script' button once. After that you need to start with a fresh version of the template.

Hi scrubs! I re-downloaded the template but unfortunately it does not work... I use the blender 2.77 version and not the 2.76: may it cause problems?

Do you have 2.77 or 2.77a? The 2.77 release had some bugs which needed an immediate fix, so 2.77a is the latest working version.

Hi UmbraManis! Yes I have blender 2.77 a...
I will try to render the model on another computer 😃
Hope it will work!

It works now! I don't understand but thank you!!
