How to post pictures on the forum
AzogTheDefiler a commencé cette discussion dans Help and Tips

Hi guys, I was wondering; how do you post pictures on the forum? The method I've seen so far doesn't seem to work. I need the images Url, and I can't seem get that unless I post it on another Website first. Even then all it does is make a link to open the picture in a new tab. How do you guys do it? Could you give me a step by step?
Thanks in advance! 😃

Hi Azogthedefiler!
You need the image URL. How to obtain this?

If you upload your renders on website like Flickr you just have to click on Share and then copy and paste the BBcode.

When I wasn't registered on Flickr, I used this other method.
• go to the model page (on Mecabricks),
• click on the render tab,
• right-click on your render,
• click on inspect element (this tool is available on Safari, Firefox and Chrome, maybe other browsers too),
• you'll see the code of the page (HTML),
• now, look for this line:
<div id="renderings-preview" style="background-image: url(http://www.mecabricks.com/image/rendering/p/db9Eob.jpg; display: block;"></div>
• hey! There is your image URL! (http://www.mecabricks.com/image/rendering/p/db9Eob.jpg)
• last step:
![your URL](your URL)

That's it 😃

(final result)
http://www.mecabricks.com/image/rendering/p/db9Eob.jpg

Yay I got it to work! 😄 I slightly misunderstood UmbraManis and Scrubs before. I thought they were saying not to put spaces between [ img ] and the images Url. You don't want spaces there either but I left the spaces in the [ img ]. 😆 I didn't notice this right away as I've never looked into HTML before; I've only tried python in Blender.

It's not HTML either. It's called BBcode. 😉

I thought web pages were scripted in HTML. I Guess I know less then I thought. 😃

That's true. Well, at least HTML is one of them. 😉
But the specific tags [ img ] tags used to display posts correctly here on the forum is BBcode .

Oh ok. 😃 so wasn't so far off then.
