If your model imported with the LDD/LDRAW importer is having some bricks misplaced, it means that some of the -what we call- conversion data is still not completed for the misplaced bricks. You can report here (although it will be much at this time) if bricks are misplaced. Sometimes, bricks won't appear in Mecabricks as they don't exist yet.
I'm very new to 3D modelling but I got the hang of using Blender today. I imported a piece I need (for 5 different models that use it) from LDraw and it looks great; I exported as a .glb/.gltf but now I'm not sure what to do with it. Does it have to be submitted to an Admin to be added into Mecabricks or is there some way I can import it in just to use for myself for now? Thanks guys; I'm one-week-new to Mecabricks as well. Absolutely LOVING this so far.
Hello NismoTyler. It is currently not possible to import custom meshes in mecabricks. Regarding New parts you can submit them using the email address in the footer of this page. However check is very strict and parts exported from other system like LDraw won't be accepted.
Thanks for the response Scrubs! So if, in theory (and I really mean this) I create a mesh from scratch and it's the exact same dimensions as a part from LDraw (being that we're working with such a modular system here) will it still be considered for approval?
Ldraw uses a some special unit system not always reflecting reality. Besides there are heaps of ways to model the same parts. So no, 3D models won't be the same for both systems. Besides mecabricks requires smart uv unwrapping, baked bevel textures, bump maps, mask, etc. Please continue this conversation in another thread if needed.
When imported form LDD:
41741 imports 1 unit in the y direction to much.
2780 is rotated 90 degrees when imported from LDD.
I can't find 47715, aka the pullback motor from Lego Racers.
@AntasmaTheBatKing777, this part does not exist in Mecabricks yet.
Part 30036 is in LDD, but does not import into Mecabricks. It's a shame, because it's a pretty cool part. If someone can explain a way that I might be able to import this in successfully, I'm happy to have a go myself.
Many thanks!
Hi, I've noticed some translation/rotation import errors from .io, and would be very grateful if these could be rectified.
35464 - 90˚ off in Y
30132 - 180˚ off in X
35787 - 180˚ off in X, 90˚ in Y, 1 plate too high in Y
9394 - position off in Z
3039 - 180˚ off in Y, but only sometimes
6231 - 180˚ off in Y, only sometimes
59230 - 90˚ off in X
3675 - 180˚ off in Y, only sometimes
Also, 3048c is not importing—should correspond to 3048v3.
Thank you!
^ Is there any way I can help with correcting import data? I'd really love to get these parts importing correctly.
When I import from Studio, the minifigures' hands and sometimes their heads, accessories, and headgear import backwards. Also, the plume/flame (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64647&name=Minifigure,%20Plume%20Feather%20Triple%20Compact%20/%20Flame%20/%20Water&category=%5BMinifigure,%20Headgear%20Accessory%5D#T=C) imports backwards. And the new 1x1 flower (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=24866&name😛late,%20Round%201%20x%201%20with%20Flower%20Edge%20(5%20Petals)&category=%5BPlate,%20Round%5D#T=C) imports slightly above where it is supposed to be.
