Customize Mouse Clicks?

Hi! This seems to be the best alternative to Lego Digital Designer so far, but I seem to be having trouble with selecting a brick using left click.

I'm using a drawing tablet and a pen, so its difficult to click and hold still. I find myself constantly moving the camera instead of clicking on the brick. Is there a way to change the controls so left click does no equal moving camera? (and maybe click move = select brick?)

I was a bit fed up with LDD's strict rules for allowing only certain connections valid, but I do love it's auto connection feature. Also, posting on the official Lego website had a fine print saying they can take/use/sell any models you posted. Uhhh no thanks 😛

Anyway, thanks! This looks great so far!

'seems' 😛 Well, consider it as the best alternative to LDD 😛

Anyway, there's no option or setting right now that allows you to customize shortcuts. The closest thing that can help is the "Select" option. That's the first option in the button bar on the left of the workshop. By hitting that select button, the camera is locked while you are selecting parts. Yes, parts, so multiple parts are possible too with this option. Hope this helps a bit.

The nice thing about Mecabricks is that the owner is constantly trying to make the workshop better - by including new parts, new decorations, and ensuring that multiple platforms can use mecabricks. For now, the workshops is designed to be used on PC's, but some users are using their tablet for Mecabricks. Some changes already happened in the past to make it better on tablets but if you're having a suggestion to make it even better, then just say. 😃

Oh and welcome to Mecabricks! Looking forward to see your models/renderings/ ... 😃

Hello,

I tried the workshop on iPad (it shall be quite similar on other tablets / drawing tablets). It kinda works but it's not optimized for touch controls. Like you said selecting or moving parts often triggers a short movement of the camera which can be annoying.

So far, my preference would be to make a good touch friendly interface rather than plasters on the desktop version.

P.S. No fine prints here. I'm not going to use or sell users models. They belong to you guys 😉

[edit] Looks like Sim has been faster than I am to answer 😉

Thank you 😄 I'll try the selection tool, and yeah I'll stick that in the suggestions section. Y'all are so friendly! In the Lego website gallery, people can comment on your stuff, but there is no way to reply to them. I find that rather silly. 😛

Yes I'll try my best to make my models in here. I have about 30 models I want to recreate virtually, as a way to keep record of them in case they break or lost or rebuilt. Thanks again 😃
