Hey, Sim533, mb you can extract other textures of this game? We can use them as decals in LDD2PovRay decal replacer.
^^ What textures would you have in mind?
For example, new City Arctic Emblem, widely used in new Arctic sets 😉
That Emblem can be found in some of the decals of minifigures (see page 1)
Vehicles and buildings have textures like this:
Can you explain how you extract this files? i have experience only with TT Games
@Sim533, thx for this decals!
@Stanislav94, MyCity game uses Unity Game Engine, so i suppose you can use any of the Unity Resource Exctractor to achieve your goals.
P.S. Mb Sim533 can share some guides for us? Im big City theme fan, so i want to get as much decals for renders as i can.
I'll be trying to write out a brief introduction on how I do this - but Unity decompiling isn't really straightforward. There are plenty of tools and some are capable to manage games while the others are failing. It's a bit hit and hope.
Extracting game objects from Unity Games
Please note: There is no 'great' tool that can decompile all objects in the right format. Unity uses alot of file extensions and there are different options to represent a texture for example.
The Resources
I'm using a lot of programs to try to get the best out of these Unity Games.
DisUnity (0.3.4) - https://github.com/ata4/disunity/releases
QuickBMS - http://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm
The Tricks
Extracting with DisUnity:
disunity extract sharedassets0.assets (example to extract all 'common' resources an asset file from mobile releases)
disunity extract Web.Unity3d (example to extract all 'common' resources from web games - this extract will produce assets files, use the command above to extract these. )
Pros & Cons:
C: Doesn't work with games of Unity 5 as of now
C: Requires JAVA
P: extensions are correct upon extracting (good possibility to have the textures in the right format)
Extracting with QuickBMS:
Run the program and follow the instructions - it's a wizard.
Pros & Cons:
C: Extensions may be not correct and may require tweaking for correct view.
C: Everything is extracted - really everything. If it goes wrong, it goes wrong.
P: Everything is raw extracted.
**If you're still having questions about how to extract these resources, it's a little bit off topic in this topic. So, I won't be answering any questions anymore regarding how to extract these resources from the game. I might be doing the buildings/vehicles textures myself to help Mecabricks having even more decals. I'm looking froward to see them appear in the mecabricks building tool! **
These are 19 256x256 decals I've spoken about earlier.
I would totally be up for vectorizing some of those Lego U textures, but Scrubs would have to be okay with adding textures that never existed in a set to the workshop.
What's your opinion on this Scrubs?
I think that it will be not easy to categorize these parts/decos. They don't have an id as they are just used for a game that LEGO created a few years ago.
this parts are unique and many people like Lego Universe.
A few of those textures are actually CMF series 1 or 2, or early ninjago. Both of which appeared in Lego U.
I had a few custom parts at some stage in the library but it wasn't very successful. Too hard to handle. I'd rather stick to what has been produced by the company in real life.
To create your own great sets, should be available to as many devices as possible. In Lego Digital Designer there are the Lego Universe bricks.
Lego Universe is a bit different from custom parts somehow. I'm not too familiar with it though.
Maybe it could be added in a dedicated category in the part library and folders used to separate the different element types.
Are there lots of elements or is it only decorations that are special to lego universe?
There were a lot of in game minifig weapons that didn't exist in plastic, but i'm mainly interested in the decals.
Helmets, weapons, decals, armors and hairstyles.
The most liked Monster ist this with its hairstyle:
Previously when I played Lego Universe, since I was in the Paradox faction but this character I particularly like here.
Here you can get the Lego Universe Server (Not the full server) and it's client but i think you can extract the Objects and Decals from there: http://timtechsoftware.com/?page_id=1341
If you want i can help with make decals for mecabricks, i have cinema4d and gimp, paint.net and i have experience in that.
LEGO Universe was the game we all loved a few years ago; but has now been replaced by 2 new mmo's (chima online and lego minifigures online). The first one is already taken offline because it couldn't succeed, the second one has partically success for the moment. LEGO Universe has a lot of decals as far as I can remember. Lots of torsos and legs. Then you had factions - players could enter one of the four factions. Those factions had really "glowing" stuff and custom weapons and hairstyles. Aparts from those weapons and hairstyles, there were also armors and capes but these parts have been published in real plastic as well. The enemies was very specialized and most of them have custom "meshes" that aren't even parts. Yet we are building tool.
Enemies:

http://legouniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Roo_Morgg
http://legouniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Whack_Bliddo
http://legouniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Bone_Wolf
http://legouniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Stromling
NPCs & Player stuff:
http://legouniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Barry_Smoothmoves
http://legouniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Axon_Klaxon
http://legouniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Augie_Ninewells
http://legouniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Hael_Storm
It's depending on you Scrubs. It would be cool to LEGO Universe parts as well, but if you're opening the bridge to custom decals, then you'll get a load of work extra. I think that LEGO Universe addition (not the enemies, just npcs) would be OK for mecabricks, but opening the port for every custom decal/part would probably make Mecabricks a cad program (without lego).
