I recently started to rewrite the flex tool from the ground. During this journey I also decided to do the same for the translate and rotate gizmos as well as other parts of the code. Some improvements are visual but lots of others are also under the hood like GPU memory optimization. I posted videos on YouTube the past weeks but if you didn't see them, here are a couple.

But in the end it'll be worth it!

Without joking I got stuck inside the room this morning 😛 So I decided that it was time to do something better with the little space I have. I spent the whole day building some shelving and reorganizing everything. Good I didn't have to work today. I managed to remove all the cardboard boxes from my office room. Quite cool but scary to see the amount of unopened sets I have... another one in the house was proud but not proud of me lol
I could also finally reopen the box containing my Queen Anne's Revenge. It was sitting here since I moved 6 years ago.

Just wondering, is there any plan to add flexibility to the Textile elements? It seems as though it'd be much more difficult with all the restraints of movement.

question, would it be possible to implement a gaming function so that you can interact with a build in first person as a minifig
(and an add to body as (hand/leg, etc.) function so people could set up mechs and keybinds for other vehicles).
and a story/rule element to go along with it so that people can create little games for each other to play

sorry... I got a little carried away there...

on an entirely different note from my previous post,
is there any way to make cad software NOT overly complicated to use?
seriously.

building with cad software: 2 hours
"this is like working at the office"

building the same thing with legos(assuming that you keep them organized): 20 minutes
"wow, so simple and intuitive, yet somehow also fun"

sorry if my questions were dumb, or if I insulted someone

I'm new to this sort of software

I'm honestly just looking for a way to have fun with legos... without having to worry about running out of parts, losing a brick and accidentally (and painfully) finding it, or having to organize them.

Does the new flex tool also means that the rubber bands with a square cross section will be added?

the only thing LDraw has on this is a longer list of parts
this is waaaaaaaay easier to use than any of the other cad software I've tried (LDraw & stud.io)
also, is there a setting to have parts "snap" to each other

Yes, use the S key and the yellow dots (snap points)

Hello.
The latest renderfarm version won't appear on my browser. I only have the old one. Will the new one come soon or is it only for Patreon members so far?

You need to clear your cache to ensure your browser loads the file from the server.

I did clear my cache. I also cleared my cookies & other site data, browsing history, etc. and rebooted. When that didn't work, I tried another browser. Still no luck 😕

It's working now! 😃

Today's main improvements

  • Added the composite option in the project menu.

You can run your renders through the compositor as many time as you like without re-rendering the scene!

Settings that can be changed are:

  • Look - from render tab
  • All options in the compositing tab
  • Background options

how often do you update the workshop?

Everyday recently.

Today's main improvements

  • Added Intel Open Image Denoising with 3 quality settings

This Denoiser works very well with very low samples (under 100) and with uniform surfaces.
It is not great with imperfections like the wear and tear setting or with a transparent background.

The fast quality is a good value as it is both fast and efficient. High value can be very very slow for high resolution images and may crash. So not often a good option.

are you gonna add more stuff soon the big figs are missing

The proper place to request this would be here: https://www.mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/50
