Here is a test I built for the landscape. I never new 4x4 plates worked so well! 😃
Ho ho! That looks nice @Sleepy17! I'm in on this project! I can help with anything Blender related since I am not as experienced in Lego MOCcing like you all are if that is okay. But I shall give it a try.
Also, we may want to consider adding some more buildings and finish up the story a bit (like adding some of the space pirates and traders).
Sounds great. I'll have to check if it's legal ,but is there any possibility it could include bendyfigs? Also, we need to make a list of models we want to include in the MOC. If my calculations are correct, for every 32👨2 plate size the landscape will use about 220 pieces. The best part is 4x4 plates in brick yellow are soooo cheap that it would be pretty easy to have this built in real life (a little expensive though). 😃
Okay. Sure! I wouldn't mind using my Bendyfig in the project. The package has become pretty sophisticated now since the BETA testing program has been running for close to 4-5 months.
True, that will work nicely. 😄
Well as long as we have you, we shouldn't have any issues with the Bendyfig! 😃
Hehe. True!
(It would also be another good way of promoting it for me! 😛)
Any interest in a Raptorfig? 😄
Maybe, I could try making it look less “raptorish” with a custom decoration. I definitely want to design all printed elements custom (except minifigures).
Okay.
Here's V2 of the desert. It used a few more parts than I hoped, but the supports can be removed once they are covered up in the final. Also, What would you think about quadrupling the size from 32👨2 >64x64?
This size suits me pretty well on V2 of the desert. Maybe you could create a few variations, all with the same square area of studs (studs² :P).
Are you sure about the size? I feel like it's to small to display the amount of models we want to include. I guess I just think bigger is better. 😃 Plus, the 32👨2 space will only use maybe 250 pieces out of the 3000 limit.
Yes, it is small, but maybe we could have multiple variations of the one you built? We do want to save pieces though for what counts though...
True. When you say multiple variations, does that mean different 32👨2 plates or the same one with different stuff on them. Not sure if my question makes any sense 😛
Probably a mixture of the first and second.
Whoa! Forgot to post here 😉
@Sleepy I really like the landscaping! However, mightn't it be better not to have it everywhere but only some sections of landscapes? (i.e.the areas we have buildings)
It's really cool for MOC-ing, but it does use a lot of parts, and LEGO wouldn't be likely to do it in the final anyway.
What do you think?
EDIT: Oh yeah! Sleepy, you need to make yourself a custom fig! 😃
Yes! That you must! 😄
I have to agree with ArmoredBricks on the landscaping. It would be neat to have the whole set floor covered in that, but we do need to keep Lego's style in mind.
Very true about the landscape. Someday I might make a large MOC ,but I realized I'll probably have to wait on that. Yes, I am currently working on a custom minifigure. It should be done soon. Speaking of minifigs, I noticed that each of yours are different face colors. You can ether swap them out for different ones or I can change the skin tone later. Do you think we should do yellow or Real life skin tones?
With the models, why don't we just make mini display stands for them? Or things like building would have sand and rocks around them. If we could include as many models as possible that would just blow people away! 😃
That may take some computing power... Okay. Uhmmm....I'm actually either way on this option.
That is probably what ArmoredBricks (and now me) was thinking of. For each model (eg. vehicle/figurine/building) we have a little "terrain stand" for it. How does that sound?
Sounds great! We should dabble around with what style and colors go good for rocks/sand.
True.
Also, good news! I was able to search for our models with the "planetquest" tag! Here is the link for searching.
