Brick Adventure Game: Planet Quest
AdrianRayner started this discussion in Community

We need your help to bring an adventure game to life. We are looking for people that want to be involved in creating content for Planet Quest using MecaBricks.

Please take a look at the pictures at the link below to have an understanding of the look and feel of the game, plus a small gimps of the story.

We are looking for mad max thunderdome style town with isolated outposts and locations to fill the world, It's a rough junk almost steampunk planet with space traders, pirates, hidden danger and exciting characters.
Locations are small dwellings/huts, workshops, ship repair/refuel, markets etc. Lots of makeshift not perfect places that look like they have been made from scrap or ship parts, nothing big and complex at this stage. Also any land planet vehicles or smashed destroyed ones.

This is a ultra creative project that is not in line with normal brick builds, but I'm keen to see who wants to be involved, if we get enough support we can release a free playable version for the MecaBricks community.

Thank you
Adrian

Hi Guys, Happy new year. I have to say that I will not be continuing to work on Plant Quest this year. I have another project that is going to take a lot of my time and I am changing jobs so I dont want to commit to something that will hang in limbo for a long time and not be updated.

I want to thank you all for your builds and I hope you got some enjoyment from the free game we have produced. I will leave the website in place so you can still use the game if you wish.

I have learnt a lot and wish I could build brick games as a full time job but I only have so many hours in the day.

Thank you again for your support and feedback, I wish you all the best.

Your friend,
Adrian

Hey Adrian!
Thanks for the update. I've had a lot of fun building and playing the game, so thank you. 😄
Good luck with your project + new job. 😃

You're welcome! 😃 Good luck with your new job and project as well. Will the game be continued at some point in the future? (You had me hooked on it!😛)

Thank you Adrian for the amazing experience I've had working with Planet Quest! We should totally do something with all of these models we have built like a huge "Planet Quest" MOC or something like that. 😄

Yes! Let's do it! Just one problem, does anyone have a computer that is powerful enough? I can use my resevoir of SheepIt! points for rendering if need be...oh...wait! We can use linked objects! 😄

Thanks so much AdrianRayner for the awesome building experience and amazing gameplay!

Lego IDEAS Project, anyone?

YAS! 😛

What I was hoping for as well. The hardest task would be fitting in the Piece limit. 😃

@AdrianRayner, would you be okay with us doing an Ideas Project?
@Everyone who's posted here PLEASE tag ALL your planet quest builds "planetquest". It makes it easier to find them.

Added the tags. By the way, I updated the link to the decoration. 😃

Thanks for all the great comments guys, I really appriciate your support.

I will keep looking at this group of tallented people to see how you are all going and what you are building, I'm not going to destroy anything so you never know what will happen in the future it could come back around one day.

Some videos I have created that you might like:

All my models have the planetquest tag. 😉 Great videos Adrian. 😄

Just added the tags!

Check if my models are showing up. I tagged them, but I can't see them. 😦

Lemme check...

Nope. Getting the same result. 😦
Maybe we should add (Planet Quest) at the end of each model? That is how KyloRenFSDYCinema's model is showing up.

I just realized a big problem if we are going through on possibly making a Lego Ideas project. Most of the models make use of illegal building techniques. 😕
gulp

Well I guess we can't have that (glad I always build legally! Well, I guess that's just the way it rolls.

Okay, so this is just part of the fun! We choose the models we want, then we carefully go through and redesign them to use possible combinations of parts. And as long as it's possible to build in real life, illegal building techniques are allowed on IDEAS.
