Brick Adventure Game: Planet Quest
AdrianRayner started this discussion in Community

We need your help to bring an adventure game to life. We are looking for people that want to be involved in creating content for Planet Quest using MecaBricks.

Please take a look at the pictures at the link below to have an understanding of the look and feel of the game, plus a small gimps of the story.

We are looking for mad max thunderdome style town with isolated outposts and locations to fill the world, It's a rough junk almost steampunk planet with space traders, pirates, hidden danger and exciting characters.
Locations are small dwellings/huts, workshops, ship repair/refuel, markets etc. Lots of makeshift not perfect places that look like they have been made from scrap or ship parts, nothing big and complex at this stage. Also any land planet vehicles or smashed destroyed ones.

This is a ultra creative project that is not in line with normal brick builds, but I'm keen to see who wants to be involved, if we get enough support we can release a free playable version for the MecaBricks community.

Thank you
Adrian

Haven't posted here in a while. Here is something that can be used as a barrier or obstacle. My Roadrage vehicle build, should fit well with Brick Adventures.

@Xsizter. That is wild. Got a few of your builds in the new version. When it goes live you will have to check it out. Well done.

Adrian

Hello explorers, the new version of planet quest is ready to try, it can be download now from the website link below.
You will need to start the game again as loading an old save could produce crashes and errors or poor interaction in the games story. I know its not great but we are still in the alpha stage and a lot has changed.

The map is working
New invintory items
Added missions, people and places
Added new brick content
Added a mission help system

Some collection graphics are not finished and only have a red arrow but wanted to get this out to you soon to take a look at.

I have also credited you all on the website and set up a blog, if you want your real names on it please send me a message and I will update it.

Have fun
Regards
Adrian

Yahoo! I'll look into the game when I get a chance. Are there vehicles in it?

Awesome job on the site too! It looks very nice.

i gota get on and explore the game for the first time, it looks epic

i downloaded it, but idk how to play it lol

whad do i need to do to start up the game?

haha i actualy managed to figure it out, i played through the game a bit and died to lava 😛 i also recorded some gameplay, so i can edit it a bit and upload it if thats ok

Great stuff. Yes you can upload any footage and send the site to any friends that might be interested in testing the alpha of the game.

Played for about an hour and a half last night, a little bit after you put out the update. All the new stuff is great! Some of the characters have given me wrong directions* but using the compass is way easier than using coordinates in my opinion. Still haven't got the vehicle working... but I have found all the holo- statues. I have a crowbar, wrench, metal detector, and pick.

*Miner Man said to go North to find Akkio but it was really not that direction. Akkio said to go directly south and east to find the pirate containers, but I had no luck with that either. One of the locations Armored Bricks marked on my map, didn't have anything there.

I think adding a feature where you could mark locations on your map would be cool. Also maybe a mission log in the menu so you know what you should be doing.

Anyways, I think this update is a great improvement. I will keep playing and giving feedback. Can't wait to see what you have next! 😄

@gideon26. Thanks for the comments you made. You are correct miner man should say south not north. Akiko directions for the containers locations are correct just walk a little more, let me know how you go.

I'll check the map locations Armour Bricks gives.

Great job well done

Adrian

Ok. I found the containers, but I'm not sure how to open them or collect the parts?

What?!?!

This is insulting...

I was able to find the pirate containers, but I can't seem to open them. 😕

Hey Team, sorry about the containers, A script was missing, I have patched it with an update Version 2.3.1 download from the website. No need to start again just load from your last save and should be good to go. Let be know if you have any more issues.

Adrian

@Samino Haha! I saw that too 😁

@Adrian Ok awesome. 👍

Yay! 😄

Okay, just tested it out, and I was able to fix the vehicle. I think you should add it where the vehicle can go through all plants. I keep running into stuff! 😛
Also, none of the computer chip locations on the map are working. One location does not have anything and all of the other available ones will not yield any chips. Did I mention the vehicle keep flipping over? Also, the camera was acting a bit weird. It kept doing "close-ups". 😉

Suggestion for the camera: Maybe the WASD keys control the player and the arrow keys control the camera's location? This would give the player many other viewpoints to work from.

The camera worked fine for me when I was using the vehicle, I think the flipping issue has to do with it being a three-wheeler... Maybe.
