Ways to Pivot a Single Piece or a Group

I'm not sure how other people do it, but when I have a piece that I want to pivot that doesn't have a pivot point (for example, the corner stud of a 2x4 plate), I stick a 1x1 round brick colored bright yellow (so I can visually see it and it sets it apart from my other pieces) at the point I want to pivot, and group both of them. Then I select the bright yellow round brick and rotate.

I'm curious as to how everyone else pivot? Or am I over-complicating things again >_>;;

I think you almost got it. If a part doesn't have a pre-defined point, I add a 1x1 piece at the location of the pivot point I want, select the parts to rotate and press P to choose the temporary part point (instead of grouping it).

I found the same solution 😛
