I honestly don’t know if this is something only I struggle with or if it’s pretty common, but I keep forgetting to check my travel card until I’m already out of the house or standing somewhere near the metro station. Most of the time it doesn’t create a big problem, but on busy mornings when I’m already late for work, it becomes really stressful if I suddenly realize the balance is low and I have to stop everything just to top it up. It kind of breaks the flow of the whole day and makes everything feel rushed.
I was browsing a forum discussion on Mecabricks recently while looking for something completely unrelated, and I noticed someone casually talking about how they built a habit of using Check Card Balance before leaving home every single morning. They said it saves them from those awkward last-minute situations and honestly it made me think I should probably stop being so careless about it. I’ve never really set a routine for it, I just rely on memory which clearly isn’t working that well.
Now I’m wondering how other people manage this in their daily life. Do you check your balance regularly as part of a routine, or do you only remember when you’re actually about to travel? I feel like this is one of those small things that can actually make daily commuting a lot smoother if done properly, but I just haven’t built the habit yet.
