So I was trying to make a render on this massive city scape someone built. It wouldn't let me render because it exceeded the number of bricks (limit was 1000). I thought, "that's fine! I only need like 2% of the build in frame" so I went ahead and deleted nearly the entire build. I tried again but the same error message popped up. I apparently still had 4000 bricks in use. Just to see if it would work, I deleted everything except for the mini figures but apparently I still had over 1000 parts. There were only 2 minifigs and nothing else. Why won't it work? If not, is there a way I could copy and paste my figures over into another project, without importing? It took forever for me to get the posing right. I've made the project public so others can look around and try to see what's up. Thanks.
You have 1100 6x12 plates in your model. They've all been hidden (along with the big baseplates), but not deleted. When I opened it there were 1437 parts, and the majority were in the building bases, plus there's a car and some random other stuff in there too. Your part count is in the bottom right corner. Sometimes MB gets things stuck in your computer's memory. When I run into issues with a ghost part that won't delete, I save and then refresh the webpage. This usually clears out the error.
The fastest way to get the minifigs to a brand new model is to save as a new name and then delete the bad parts. In your case I'd save again and refresh the webpage. Then go back and make sure what's deleted is actually gone.
B1Trash thanks a bunch. You're a legend
Thanks!
