How do I clone or copy and paste models?

To clone, go to the tool bar on the left and select the clipboard sign. Then do whatever you would like to do with the clone. If anybody knows how to copy and paste to create larger models, that would be awsome.

Hi Hectorking-

Within your model, you can multi-select parts before cloning. With a keyboard, you can hold [Ctrl] and click on multiple parts. You can also select multiple parts in the Graph tab using [Ctrl] and [Shift]. There is also a Workshop Multiselect tool, the mouse arrow on the top of the left hand toolbar. The keyboard shortcut for this is [W]. Once you enable the tool, you will have a pop-up that gives you multiple options for multi-select. The first option is Area, which allows you to draw a box around the parts you want to select. Keyboard shortcut is [B] for box select. All the other options do not have a keyboard shortcut.

If you want to add other models in, you can use the File -> Import... menu. If you choose Mecabricks (the default) you can import models from your library, officially designated models and minifigs, and front-page selected MOCs. If you want to import a MOC that has not been selected, then it is still possible if they have enabled the editor option. Just open the model in the editor and then save it to your library. Now you can import it. I'd recommend getting permission from an author before publicly publishing a model using borrowed parts.

If this doesn't answer your question, let me know.

Cheers!

Thanks 😃 😃 😃

Dear complete stranger,

To copy part of a model, you would open the model in workshop and select the parts you want to copy. Then, delete the rest of the model and save it as a model, but, unless you want to, don't publish it. Then, open another workshop and press IMPORT>MECABRICKS> and then select the model you saved earlier.

Hope this might help anybody wondering in the deep and dangerous worlds of copy and paste,

Sincerely,
Hectorking, a digital overlord.
