exporting from stud.io into mecabricks workshop causes pieces to change position or orientation
tim_earles started this discussion in Bug Reporting

So I build mainly in Stud.io and export my models as .dae files to import them into Mecabricks workshop. I have noticed that every time I do this there are constantly pieces throughout my model that for some reason are flipped over, moved out of position, or just plain missing. Is there a way I can fix this? Is this just a Stud.io thing?
It also deletes any pieces I made with custom decals which I guess makes sense but I've seen other builds that were rendered in Blender with custom decals, and I want to know how I can do that.

I guess, you mean that you export as .io or .ldr to import in Mecabricks.
These files don't contain geometries or images but only part transforms and colours. There is a table that we maintain to make the conversion between the two systems however it is not complete. Also not all pieces exist in both software. Hence some part are not displayed at the correct location and with the correct orientation or not displayed at all.
There is no way to import custom decoration created in stud.io You must create them in Mecabricks.
