Use of models in (non-commercial) Animated Brick Film alllowed?
digitalpalmtree started this discussion in General Discussion

First, excuse my ignorance as I'm not a long standing site member. I'm interested in making some short CG-based Brick Films - to be honest, right now I'm more interested in the filming/animation part then the brick assembly part. Wondering if using these community designs in a short non-commercial film is permissible? How are these assets licensed? Is there a preferred way to credit the works? Thanks!

Hello,

Official 3D assets exported from Mecabricks belong to Mecabricks and cannot be redistributed. Using them to create non commercial animations is allowed.

Model designs belong to the creators and you shall ask them the permission first - It doesn't apply to official LEGO sets as the design belongs to The LEGO group.
