Casting shadows in a mecabricks render?
gingerwitch started this discussion in Help and Tips

Hey, new to this, and any help would be appreciated. I managed to set a sun as a light point in a previous version of a model and in the render it cast nice shadows. I assume I changed or failed to save a setting somewhere, as I'm no longer able to do that, and I'd really like to.

It still makes a difference in the results if the sun is showing or not (for a quick check, in 3D render view, lighting, visible in viewport is toggled on), but I'm no longer seeing the shadows in the renders that I got from that previous attempt. Any ideas? Was it just a question of the strength of the "sun"? Does it need more height or maybe more proximity?

Also, stupid question, but when we open older projects, can we see the render settings on them in the right hand menu (floor, lighting, background...), or is it limited to the information on the left side of the screen (dimensions, samples, frames...)? (Sorry, I just haven't experimented enough to be able to tell, too busy trying to get those shadows back.))

Thanks again. 😃
