First off, I think that Mecabricks is already an unrivalled tool and community, but I have a few ideas on how to potentially make it even better.

  1. Mirror feature. (Like Stud.io's.) I think it goes without saying that the build time of most models could be greatly reduced with such a feature. The only problem is that this seems like a difficult feature to implement, but maybe in the future?

  2. Follow feature. Now, I don't want Mecabricks to become a social-media type site, but adding a follow feature with notifications would be greatly beneficial to anyone who doesn't want to miss the release of a new model by one of their LEGO buddies.

  3. User roles. As Mecabricks grows in user number, I think there is a greater requirement for admin users. Just looking at the library recently, there seems to be quite a delay in the frequency of models selected, as well as renders removed. Adding additional admin who perhaps visit the site regularly with less on their hands would fix this problem. Additionally, no admin need be all-powerful. There could be users assigned to specific roles, for example selection of models, deletion of renders, and - dare I say it - user banning. Obviously this raises some issues concerning a greater degree of authority assigned to certain users, so I think there should be some form of application process, in which certain attributes of the user are evaluated to determine competency as an admin.

  4. Instruction generator. I know - this is a massive feature that has been brought up in the past, but I think the future of Mecabricks holds this.

  5. Landscape generator. Similar to the mosaic tool, just with an extra dimension thrown in. I don't know how useful this would be, but I think it could be fun.

Thanks for reading (I hope). I understand most of these features require large amounts of effort to implement into the website, but that's fine. Mecabricks is already the most powerful LEGO building tool out there (I think), and really, we don't give Scrubs enough credit for that. Thanks, Scrubs.
