How do you get printing in blender?

I exported and then imported a minifigure into blender so I could render it but the printing didn't show up on the minifigs face?

Did you change your viewport shading mode? You may possibly be in Solid, since that's the default in the General template. If that's the case, you can switch to Material Preview... it takes my laptop a minute or so to actually open up the textures at first, so if your model turns white, that is normal behavior until the textures are loaded.

do you know how to get that minifig into the render section?

Add a camera, add lights, choose a render engine, compose your shot, hit F12.
