@BoGamex18 sorry... I don't know where to find that 😕

@Flameblade I don't really know what you mean by that 😂

@Operator I'm, hopefully, going to start SoG today! Also, I probably won't watch Possession... it's not that I can't handle it or anything... but I kinda told myself that I won't. Personally, when it comes to magic, it's how it's presented. The reason the Bible condemns it is because magic in real life is interaction with demons and satanic things... so it's evil. However, in a story, it really depends on how it's presented. Worldview also plays into it. Ninjago's worldview is actually kinda (really) off... when it comes to the balance and everything 😂. From what I've picked up, season 5 has the most conflicting worldview and magic. I mean, (it's hard to put my thoughts into words 😂...) I'm okay with magic as long as it's presented right. If dark magic and witchcraft is presented as evil I'll say it's fine, otherwise I'm a bit more critical. So just personally, Possession appears to be the darkest and I have loads of other stuff to watch. I know that sounds weird... but perhaps if I wasn't rushed and could explain things better it would make more sense 😂. So y'all can chew on that load of mixed up cabbage for a while... (facepalm)... I'm never good at explaining things.

@Green ok thats fine

@Greenflame thats why i left Ninjago. The witchcraft, and it had a huge influence on my life that i am still shaking today.

yea thats my prob with ninjago

I haven't watched possesion and I don't think I ever will

@LY...

I didn't like Possession, mainly because of the poor story... It just felt too unlucky and the fact that the skill that they learned isn't even important anymore... o_o

Greenie: Okay, I understand your views. I agree with them as well. Sons of Garmadon is going to be great, you'll love it. I personally think Possession is fine, and there's actually no magic in it. 😂 Well, no Harry-Potter-type magic. They go between realms, they fight ghosts, one of the ninjas becomes a ghost, and they disregard "curses." There are a few points where objects get possessed (which also leads to my favorite Jay line: "HOLY PIPES! The organ's got me!"), so there's that. There's also a banshee-type character, and possessed arrows (I'm realizing that maybe this season isn't as good as I remember. xD). But that's not too bad, as it's presented as the bad guys and evil. However, there is a part where they heavily/ lean on a "destiny" aspect. Basically, there's a realm called the Cloud Kingdom, and the people there write the "fate" for all of the people to ever exist. They're not the bad guys, but they're not really the good guys either. Like you said, the messed-up worldview of "balance."

Overall, I'd recommend Possession. Like Pyro said, the skill they learn is never used again, so that's a bit annoying. Still, the magic and ghosts are evil, and the main villain has a satisfying end. Still, if you'd prefer not to watch, you're not missing a ton. Only that a ninja gets turned into a ghost, but if you've watched Skybound, then you know who.

L_Y: It's not witchcraft . . . . Like, Harry Potter isn't witchcraft. Witchcraft is evil. Using magic isn't. I believe that God discourages us from believing fortune-tellers and sorcerers because . . . it's fake. They're acting like God, and that's why God condemns it. Still, this is my belief, and you don't have to share it. I just think that you're missing out.

magic and witchcraft are the same thing, but i dont want to debate. Magic/witchcraft/spells is a very serious subject for my family.

and Lloyd cast a spell in season 4.

L_Y: Okay, I'll give you that. I'd still call witchcraft a type of magic, but okay. I personally disagree, I don't think we're supposed to make a huge deal out of them. You could argue that God uses magic whenever he performs a miracle. Besides, it's fantasy. If it's not evil, or immoral, I don't think it's bad. Still, that's your opinion, and this is mine.

I'd agree with Operator, witchcraft and magic a two different things. I also agree with Lego_Yizrach that Lloyd casting the spell was, yeah... the spells were presented as dark magic, or witchcraft, and so I didn't like that. I believe your good guys shouldn't use evil to fight evil, no matter what. The right should always play right, if that makes sense.

Shine little glow worm glimmer, glimmer...

Shine little glow-worm, don't get dimmer!

Op: someone said to me in grade 3 the God uses magic my response was why would God condemn what he uses un less u can answer that question with an undebatable answer your statement is false.

Green: Yea cuz fighting evil with evil cost them a whole heap of trouble with Morro. Turns out Lloyd makes a lot of mistakes and has to pay for them. Choices=Consequences like when the ninja told Lloyd to stay put and not fight his father in S8 and he didn't listen to his EXPERIENCED friends and GUESS WHAT, HE GOT THROWN AROUND KRYPTARIUM LIKE A RAG DOLL JUST FOR HARUMI'S PLEASURE TO SEE HIS FATHER SAY THE DARKEST PHRASE IN NINJAGO HISTORY "I HAVE NO SON." WOW LLOYD HAPPY GF HAPPY LIFE WORKED OUT FOR YOU WHEN U WERE HALF DEAD WITH ABOUT EVERY BLOOD VESSEL TORN IN YOUR LITTLE LEGO SELF!!!!!

Greenie: Yes, that's true. I agree there. They shouldn't have used that. They sacrificed morals for the storyline, and that wasn't the best decision.

BG: IMO, God doesn't condemn the concept of magic. He condemns people who use it to deceive others, and pretend to be God. I don't think God (even if he decided he was gonna preform miracles again) would kill all the show magicians in an instant because they're doing "Magic." People who use "magic" to pretend to be God though, well, I believe God does condemn those.

Op: Still arguable kid. Do better. And plus why would a God need magic. Are you questioning God's abilities?

Yay!! A philosophical/theological conversation!!
Ok, so for starters, BroGamezT18, I would be greatly pleased to know where it condemns "magic". Not sorcery, necromancy, consulting mediums, or satanic witchcraft, but magic.
My definition of magic is similar to that of Doctor Strange - accessing the source code of the created order. Now, I rush to say I wouldn't espouse this in real life. In fact, I would be greatly against it. But then again, super powers don't exist in real life. So our question is not whether it is bad in our world, but whether it is bad in the fictional world we're getting it from.

I find it useful to note the main difference between magic and witchcraft, as explained by John Granger in his excellent Looking for God in Harry Potter. His terms were incantational magic and invocational magic. Incantational magic is that which "sings along into" the created order, in that sense following in the Creator's footsteps.
Invocational magic, on the other hand, involves calling in outside sources (demons) and is frowned upon in all major religions of the world. (This should, of course, make sense. They are protecting their own.)

I agree that the spells and such in Ninjago don't appear to be good, but as we've established they have been always negative. Lloyd cursed the Anacondrai Cultists to save Ninjago, but that ended up in the destruction of two realms, one living, and one dead. Master Yang tried to give himself eternal life, reversing the Fall, but ended up cursing himself to be a ghost.

Lastly, I don't think that God needs invocational magic - but I would call walking on water or multiplying bread incantational magic - something that fits the story of creation.

Just my two cents 😄

Magic that follows the Creator's is like Gods power right, is Incantational and can other people use incantational right

BG: I'm not saying God needs magic. I'm saying that miracles could 100% be called magic, though I still prefer the term miracles. I 100% agree with Pyro's argument. My position is his.

Pyro: Well-explained.

Pyro: Where it condemns it, Hmm Very easy. Exodus 7:10-13. GODS POWER ISN'T MAGIC cuz Pharaoh's magicians couldn't imitate God's power and if God's power was magic they would have been able to imitate God's power because God's power would be magic. Pharaoh's magicians were the best in the world at the time. If God's power was magic then they would easily replicate it. If you created a phone and it stopped working, wouldn't you know whats wrong with it and fix it? That's how God's concept of miracles work.
