"Maximum number of objects allowed: 1000" But I'm under 1000 objects . . . .

Hello! I've had a problem (which some other users have had as well) where it brings up the "Maximum number of objects . . . " banner in a model that has fewer pieces than the number on the banner. I imagine this is a bug but is there any way to fix it?
