3819v2 UV Map difficulties
Brick.Cucumber started this discussion in Parts and Decorations Design

I'm currently trying to work on some official arm texturss using UV map 3 for part '3819v2' and it's super difficult to use because of how the lines skew at intervals making it impossible to have lines be straight. Was just wondering if anyone has any advice for making a decal for this part or if anyone has nay good templates so i can get some straight lines on this UV map.

It's recommended that you use texture painting in Blender or another 3D software to use more complex UV maps like this, as it's hard to see exactly where everything will end up if you're drawing in 2D.

Brick.Cucumber- I use Inkscape to make SVGs that I can render into PNGs. To get the arm prints, I bounced back and forth between Blender and Inkscape. I laid out lines using texture painting in blender, then saved the texture and imported it in Inkscape. It took a lot of iterations before I was happy with what I had.
