Try changing your browser zoom level to anything between 80 and 120 percent.

The solution I found with Chrome is to change the zoom level of the browser to anything less than 80% or greater than 110% (with the exception of 125%). Anything between 80 and 120 percent doesn't show the colour palette and other menus.
