How do i make the bricks stick together?

I keep trying to build something but the bricks don't line up. They go into each other instead of connecting. Do i have to precisely put them together, or is there an easier way to do it?

I haven't used the program yet... I am looking on here to figure it out for myself. But, maybe try using the "snap" tool? I don't know if you have to use it every time or not. Maybe someone else here can elaborate, but hopefully that helps for now!
