This is me dreaming, but we could literally start our on Mecabricks micro galaxy... and give each other the rights to use our models to make other galaxy builds. I might build a freighting federation, and small space station, a military fleet for some planet I make up... Operator might make this, DrPepper might make that... and there would even need to be someone in charge so to speak... perhaps we could make a forum explaining a few rules, but then just build... and add our projects in different posts now and then...

Okay, here's a first draft. What do you all think?

How about each person who joins comes up with a faction, company, or something like that, to represent themselves?
We could have it a bit like an RPG - making up the story as we go along.
We'd send a completed chapter of said story every week, based on what happened in the past week, so people who aren't participating can keep up.
Every week we'd do some kind of storyline, make allies, make enemies, find things, invent things, release things, etc. If what we do directly involves another "player", we'd contact them first to make sure it doesn't disrupt any story plans they had before it.

Also, if someone couldn't be involved in a week for some reason, they'd just be slightly inactive that week. I mean, it's not like something important happens every week in the real world, so, yeah. 😂
