Greenie: 'Twas less than a month ago, but yes, I did watch AoU pretty recently. That's a good point, and I need to remember that. I get caught up in movie theory and plots, leaks, etc, and it's really not healthy when you do too much.
D_R: Yeah! Voyage of the Dawn Treader was awesome! I get why people didn't like it, but it was still great.
@Op Oh! I was actually talking to D_R 😂... but good to clarify... for some reason I really feel like it was her who said she'd watched it... but whatever 😂
Yes, movies and shows can be sooo addictive... I love theorizing and talking about them, because I love stories, but self control (like in most things) is needed O_O.
@Greenie
What's a "cool movie". XD
I'm almost to 1K. 😮
@Snap. "Cool" movies is any movies that contains action, originality, cleanness, depth, sacrifice, and optional romance... I say optional because I've seen movies (like The Hunt for Red October) that generally contain all the others except romance. Though... THfRO has some language... but sadly most do O_O...
#EarlyCongrats
Congrats @TheSnapper!!
@Greenie: Hunt for Red October is a really good movie. And, compared to the book, there's not that much language. And yeah, that's a good definition for a cool movie!
@Op, It might be our thing for it being correct with the book 😉 like prince Caspian is 20 instead of 13 and Ustice is meant to be 9 instead of 19
Greenie: Dragon was actually the one who brought it up, I was just joining in the conversation. 😂
FB: Yeah, it was not book accurate at all, and that's a valid reason to dislike it. I still loved it, though. 😂
@Greenie, 5-10 movies...a year...faints
@Op, Winter Soldier is definitely one of the best Marvel movies ever, along with Avengers: Endgame. But for that (Endgame) to be a good movie, you kinda have to watch all 23 MCU movies to, y'know, get the full impact of the story.
@DR_06 & @Op and everyone else who was talking about the VotDT, Personally, I preferred Prince Caspian because of its darker tone. And the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, I mean, the movie was fine. Probably my least favorite of the film series, probably because I had really liked the book, and the movie wasn't very faithful to the book. It had its moments, I guess.
And also, if anyone is looking for a cool movie, definitely watch the Dark Knight. Action, yes. Originality...well, it's about Batman, but it's original. Cleanness... I mean, it depends on wat you mean by that. There's mild swearing. Depth: Yes. There is also sacrifice, and romance. It is a fantastic film, even for non-Batman fans. 😂 It's my favorite movie of all time, and it's number 4 on the top rated movies of all time on IMDb with a 9.0 rating. 😎
Was this just an excuse to talk about the Dark Knight? Yes. 😂
Another great movie is Zack Snyder's Justice League...it doesn't tick all the boxes of what Greenie defines as a "cool movie", but it is a great movie.
One of my favorite Marvel movies (not an MCU movie) is Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse. At first I was very skeptical, like, how good could an animated movie about Spider-Man be? Then I actually watched it, and it was mind blowing. Great, great movie. Probably the best Spider-Man movie ever (in my opinion). The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is probably my second favorite Spider-Man movie.
And Christopher Nolan makes great movies. Interstellar, the Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, etc. Really great.
aaaaaaaaand another great movie is Knives Out. I really enjoyed it, it was funny, and dramatic, and suspenseful. I'd recommend it.
(As you might have guessed already, I really like watching movies 😂)
@Greenie, Cap the First Avenger was made in 2011, so the CGI and such are gonna be a bit outdated lol 😂
The Hunt for Red October is very good.
@MrBrick Yes 😂, we know you like movies 😆... and we all know you really like The Dark Knight 😆...
I was literally smiling while I wrote that 😂
-_-
I honestly have no idea what is being discussed 😂
@Chuck, MOVIES
@Greenie, Ah, no. I don’t not “really like” the Dark Knight.
I love it 😂
Don’t not lol 😂
Hi @MrBrick! 😄
@MrBrick, I liked Prince Caspian when I first watched it, but rewatching, I couldn't stand it. The plot was fine, great in fact. But the characters! Peter and Caspian especially. They completely ruined the characters for me.
