Guitarman2, you may have “said what needed to be said" but did it occur to you that there could have been a better time to say it? Or that Lax should have been the one to say it, not you?

I had consulted with several other people (including adults) about what to do. After about 30 minutes of serious consultation, this was deemed the best approach.

It had occurred to me, but based on the data I had at the time, it was clear that Lax wasn't going to do it.

Did you ask Lax?

Not directly. But, once again, due to the information I had at the time, it seemed clear that discussion of the topic would lead to the same result no matter what I did.
I still stand that my decision was the best that I could do with what I knew. Was it the best? Probably not. Was it the best that I could do? Yes.

I'm not perfect, and my decisions aren't either.
If someone else has a better idea to do, then please share! I'd be glad to hear it.
