I agree with you... I know a lot of people hate the movies... but, though they did stray a bit in some areas, I thought the were really good. Though, I'm dreading to see what Amazon does to the masterpiece... 😕

Yeah, I would have taken out the Toriel stuff... I didn't mind Legolas being there... because although we wasn't mentioned (correct me if I'm mistaken) he probably was in the background somewhere in the midst of it all...

Yeah, I didn't really prefer Tauriel, and Legolas wasn't the best addition. First off, Orlando Bloom was almost ten years older, and the storyline is supposed to be at least a century in the past.

Yeah, I really hope Amazon cancels their project, since the name of LotR doesn't need to be shamed with Game of Thrones material.

Peter Jackson did quite the masterful job on it, why not produce a show made by him? They're trying to "one-up" the Witcher and GoT, when just plain LotR is going to do that by itself.

I know. What would Tolkien think of this!?!? He probably would regret writing the books in the first place.

Speaking of LotR, I don't think they'll ever do remakes, but they'll probably do sets based of this show... what a waste of time in my opinion.

I kinda think the show might flop anyways... debatably...

Peter Jackson made enough changes in the movies to write an essay on, but they were still truer to the books than a lot of other movies I've seen. Take Mortal Engines for instance - fantastic book, but Peter made it into an explosion-filled film, which didn't stay the way it should've.
