I was trying to change the grid size (as I read that making the grid smaller means you can use smaller angles). Unfortunately both altering it in the drop down bar and by using the Q shortcut, nothing happens and the grid stays the same?
The visual grid is not affected by the setting. But if you try to move or rotate a part, you will notice the difference in how many steps. Large will move a part two studs, medium half a stud and small 1/40 stud.

I'm finding that rotations are the same on each grid - I use the arrow keys but should I be using a different way to rotate a brick or hinge?
Grid is used for the transform gizmos not arrow keys.
