Error when rendering
Gunnbuilding started this discussion in Bug Reporting

Hi, not sure if there is maintenance being done but i'm having an issue with rendering any of my models. Everytime I press render it starts up and the render state goes red and just says 'Error'. I'm not entirely sure whats going on.

Empty the cache of your browser to get the latest version of the workshop compatible with the render farm which has been updated.

Have done that and it's still coming up with 'error'

Try to just put one brick and render. if it doesn’t work that is the issue I am mentioning. If it works, please provide more information about what you try to render so that it can be fixed.

Rendering one brick worked.

What I am trying to render is a vehicle design of mine with two minifigure characters, there is lighting effects with transparent parts, and custom decals on the minifigures and vehicles. Whenever I render it through the 'State' of the render changes from 'processing' and just turns red and says 'Error' no information whatsoever about what's going on.

I've tried rendering some of my other designs and the same thing happens with them too, even with ones that do not have custom decals.

@Brickiboy44 I would need to have access to one of your model that fails.

Unfortunately as there is a constant glitch with the library I can't select the files and make any of them public.

I've just rendered out some of my designs with the emission material lamps turned off, they rendered out fine first time, no error. It appears to be a bug or error with the emission lamps for transparent coloured pieces.

What do you mean by a glitch with the library?
I'll check if the issue comes from the emission option.

So if I go through my account to my library it will say it's loading but after a few minutes it will say 'An error occurred' and none of my files will load.

That is weird. I never heard of it. I know that this page is super old and really slow but It shall normally work.

I'm not entirely sure why this is happening

I have been playing a bit with the emission material turned on but I could not make it fail.
Could you pin point which part(s) is the issue as it doesn't seem to be related to the system itself? Or at least, could let me know which parts/materials emitting light you have in your scene?

Basically I click render on my design, it's mainly for vehicles and large designs and the transparent bricks that are lights or lamps. I press render, it starts to load up and go to the render display. The state says it is rendering. Then it goes from green to red and just says 'error'. If I turn off/remove the emissions the models render out fine.

Here is a link to my Instagram post that shows what's happening https://www.instagram.com/p/CCY-2ztJuEV/?igshid=1jeqccqql8e5s

I know what is happening 😉 it means that the Blender file could not be built. I just need to have more info about your scene to know why.

Would I need to download blender? Cause I know I'm on a new laptop and have been for a few months but I don't believe I downloaded blender

Could you just let me know the name of the file you used in your video? Once I can get the issue I am sure that it will be very easy to fix.

The file was called 'Our dying future'

That is fixed! It wasn't an issue with material emission but having it active was actually highlighting the bug. Thanks for reporting.
