Blender PlugIn vs Export

What is the difference betwee the pay Blender Plugin, and just expotorting form here and importing into Blender?

The Blender add-on is a custom solution that creates very accurate and optimized LEGO materials among other features. Other formats do not support all the mecabricks material options and you won't be able to get the same level of details.
