Look at node example?

Could someone give me an example of how to use the look at node? I'm not understanding the inputs of source and target?

Source is the position of the object that will point to the target. Target is the position where the source will look at. The output of the node shall be linked to an Object Output Transforms Node (rotation).
You shall read global positions for the source and target and write the global rotation for the source. This is to avoid any issues with parenting.

I made a small test, but why is the blue 3001 brick changing direction 180 degrees and not following all the way around, is it a bug?

You shall pretty much always tick all axes for rotation in Transforms Output nodes. That is because there are multiple solutions for euler angles to achieve the same rotation.

Thanks! That made it work, good to know! 😃

Thanks for this. In my example (https://www.mecabricks.com/en/models/Dp2l11X0jMV) I am trying to get the lookupnode to rotate the rod so that it stays aligned with the piston as the crank turns. Is that possible???

Can you help me, please? I'm on the verge of giving up 😦

I'm currently on vacation with my kids and have no access to computer, only mobilephone so i cant see anything in the editor. I will be back home around next weekend and will definitly have a look at this and try to help you!

Thank you. Just can't get it to work - enjoy your holiday.

i am late to this conversation but i don't know how node trees work.
