Grouping (2020)

well, I've been offline for about 5 months and looks like Mecabricks is updated (since I'm offline), I also have difficulties for grouping my new model, can anyone help me out?

(p.s, I only knew how to add a part to a group in the old-fashioned way.)

Drag and drop

And how do you remove parts from groups now? Also drag and drop?

Yes.

ok, thanks!

Drag and drop doesn’t work on an iPad, even when using a mouse. There are afew things that don’t work on an iPad (Ctrl and click for multiple selections) that I can live with but this one is pretty big.

Drag and drop for removing objects from groups is very tedious when groups are large. I have just removed 32 parts from a group of about 1500 parts and it took me several minutes until the list had scrolled to the correct spot. Is there a way to improve this? It was much easier with the old system.

Yes I know that scrolling is not perfect and seems to behave differently on browsers/systems. There is a technical issue and it is the best I could do so far. I will find the solution some day and you will forget how annoying it was before 😉 Mecabricks is evolving everyday.

@Scrubs, Is it possible to have the old method (option to click on the Cog icon to add, remove, rename groups etc) incorporated along with the the new way of drag and drop?

Not being able to group on the iPad is becoming extremely difficult to work with larger MOCs and I don’t have a laptop to use alternatively

It's tedious to drag and drop when groups are large.
