First try using Animation Nodes in Mecabricks, Jumped right into it based on my knowledge of nodes in Unreal Engine/Blender and was able to get this working in less than 20 mins.

Awesome Feature, super easy to use. Thanks Scrubs.

Do we need separate forum for Animations?

Great stuff. Happy to see it used.
Yes good idea, I will create a section in the forum for it as I believe lot's of users won't have as much knowledge as you have when it will be released. Still a bit of work and testing before pushing it to the production version. I also have to update the player to read animations but it shall not be too hard.

I created a new category an moved your topic there.

Thanks Scrubs.

I know it is under development, I wanted to suggest couple of things that will improve the workflow and experience.

  1. Zoom in/out in node editor
  2. You should be able add nodes on all 4 sides, I was not able to do this on left size, had to move all nodes to right one-by-one to make space.
  3. Some way of commenting on individual or group of nodes.
  4. Collapsing node to save space.

Since the node tree gets complicated vary fast it will help.

Zoom in and zoom out will hopefully come later. It seems to be easy but it will be a real struggle to code.
You know you can select multiple nodes. Box select or ctrl + click or even select all. It is currently an infinite workspace on positive values but you cannot go in the minus. Technical limitation.
You can add a label to each node. Just open the option window and you can customize the active node from here.
Collapsing is for later.

Sounds good.

I tried with box select, it does the job for now.

Also using node trees helps to organize it further.

Is there a way to send data from one node tree to another? for example if I want to calculate something on current frame number converted to radians, I want this block in one of the nodes and others can just take the final output from the common blocks.

No you cannot transfer data between node trees. It would take a lot of resources to find out the evaluation order and you could potentially create infinite loops.

You shall think of them as being executed in parallel not sequentially.

OK, thanks Scrubs. I will update if I find anything else.

Tried to do multi-stage animation.

@Scrubs: I am not able to see the animation in the preview, perhaps something needs to be done from backend.

Make sure that you clear your browser cache and resave it. Autodetection of animation has been added in the last couple of days.

@Scrubs A bit off-topic but have you ever thought about adding screen space ambient occlusion to the player? It probably can be done better than this https://autode.sk/3gV3QHt but in combination with the animations it might add some interesting depth effect to the models.

The few compositing solutions I tried were not really satisfactory. It is a bit beyond my current technical knowledge. Maybe one day I could look into that.

@Scrubs ...was just out of curiosity. The visual quality of the player is brilliant as it is and your skills... mate, top level already! I´m super impressed how far you pushed MECABRICKS over the last years. Rendering, Database and now the logic network. Keep up the good stuff!
