Custom parts (torso sides) are rendering strangely in 2.8 cycles?

Hi!

I've been getting to grips with the Lite addon with a view to upgrading once I'm sure it's an avenue I want to pursue. I've added a custom part to my library and exported it into 2.8. The front of the torso shows correctly, but the sides will only render white, rather than earth-green. When I switch to eevee it renders fine, but cycles doesnt like this one! I've managed to render two other custom torsos fine in exactly the same way, so lost where I'm going wrong and have gone around in circles now to a point that I need to admit defeat!

Could anyone with experience in this take a look at my torso file, custom parts library file and blender shading nodes? Changing the colour box in nodes doesnt have any impact and the sides of the torso stay white.

Thanks for any help

Not sure if this is causing your problem but you should not have a background colour in your "Colour" decoration file, you set the background by choosing it from the materials palette. Try to change your background so it's transparent in your decoration file and see if it works better?

As suggested by sealund make sure that you follow the guideline for texture design. It cannot work if you put a background to your texture. The base material (coloured plastic shall not be part of it). It is driven by the material selector. You shall not have to change anything in Blender after.

Thank you! I'd followed a youtube tutorial by someone which said to fill in the outside, so that was obviously incorrect! Following the template and making it tranparent worked like a dream! 😃

Material system has been fully rewritten 6 months ago. Tutorials older than that are a bit outdated.
