As like many others, I'd really like to make instructions for my models, which I know an instructions builder has been asked for many times before and I understand the complexity of building this so I'm not going to pile on that bandwagon.
That said, there is currently no real way of creating any kind of instructions with Mecabricks models so it appears to me like the simplest solution would be to allow models to be exported in some way that can be imported into one of the other tools capable of creating instructions. Right now, all of the export features revolve around rendering but there isn't anything that is importable into any of the other lego apps.
I know export features have been asked for before too, but I think many of those were posted before the LDR import feature was available. Given that you can import LDR models now, it would make sense to me that exporting is pretty much running that code in reverse so in theory, the biggest overhead has already been accomplished, that of mapping the coordinates system.
So could it be possible to add LDR export support so that we can import models into other software in order to create instructions?

The instruction builder is probably not too far. A friend of mine is working on it and I could already play with some features. Mecabricks patrons on patreon.com already had a little preview of it. I'd rather push for this than spending time and effort creating an exporter spiting out valid ldr file. That always seems to be simple but it is not so much.
Ahh, cool, I wasn't aware the instructions builder was in progress.
If that is the case then cool, I look forward to trying it.
Thanks for the update
