Adding new parts from LDD and Stud.io
Andrew_Dent3 started this discussion in Help and Tips

for clarity, i know about this post https://www.mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/15 but I want to ask, can I add parts in the following way:
1.import a part from LDD to Stud.Io;
2.export it to Collada format
3.open it in Blender, then save it in a format .blend
Can I help you add new details in this way? Or do I need to model all the parts from scratch?
Thank you for your answer)

LDD and Ldraw meshes are not suitable for mecabricks and they also require additional information like normal texture, bump textures, etc. You may use these meshes as a rough guideline if you wish but ultimately it has to be remade with the part in hand. If you think you have the ability to help, get in touch with me using the mecabricks email available in the footer of this page.

Thank you very much) I have thought about this question for a long time and I am glad that I was able to get an answer to it) If I have the opportunity, I will try to help. I really like this site and wish it only prosperity)
