Hi! I have just made my first 3D lego stop motion animation in Blender and wanted to share all the software you need to make one yourself, as I know it can be difficult starting out!
Please take a look at my first animation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWpi_8xfOTs&t=23s
Animation: Blender (Free)
Set Building: Mecabricks (Free)
Character Rigging: Can be done in blender but I found this to be very tricky! Best solution is to buy a rigged character in mecabricks. However, if you don't want to pay - look up tutorials on youtube (lego minifig rigging in blender).
Editing: There is plenty of free software around. All you have to do is set the right time per image to get your required frames per second. I use 12, 15 is normally recommended for smoothest animations. If you want to do any fancy editing I recommend Adobe Premiere Pro.
Audio: Youtube has an audio library with free music and sound effects. For recording your own audio, audacity provides a great solution as it is free and easy to use.
Thank you! I hope this was helpful. If you want any questions about the process or actual character animating, please comment on this post and I will try to help.
my textures arn't coming in, and im on a deadline of 7 days and can't figure it out
