Stuck upoading
Mechworks started this discussion in Mecabricks Render Farm

Recently I went to render something and discovered that a previous render that had errored out is still "working" even 30+ hours later, preventing me from doing any rendering at all. Irritatingly, there doesn't appear to be any way to actually get rid of this; as the usual cancel menu is not available. I'm not sure why there appears to be no common-sense error checking- any render that isn't done even FIVE hours after starting is likely more complex than Meca's free renderfarm is intended for, it seems to me that automatically killing any project that takes more than a set amount of time would save a lot of manual overhead.

and us a great deal of frustration.

Remember that you use this service for free! Glitches in the system can happen. I try to do my best for everybody but paying customers are always dealt with in priority. This is thanks to these guys that you can render for free. Otherwise the service could not exist. Developing, maintaining and running rendering servers is not free.

I imagine this would be useful even for the paid version- I doubt anyone is using Meca's renderfarm for things that take over a day to render, and automated errorchecking is the first line of defense for an online service, free or not. a simple bot that autokills any project that hits, oh, 24 hours? just to be generous; is not going to affect anyone using the service as intended but would catch edge cases like this without needing any additional intervention. just a thought from ssomeone who's done sysadmin stuff before.

the goal of the Admin is, after all, to not have to intervene at all unless the server is literally on fire; ensuring as many error scenarios as possible are covered by automation is simply good sense.

This is what I am talking about when I say a glitch. Obviously there are this kind of systems in place on the server but something went wrong and scripts were not executed.
