Plate Stud UPPER Boudaries: NOT WORK?
brickeducation started this discussion in Bug Reporting

If I place on the workshop any PLATES bricks in any colors the Stud Upper Boudaries don't appear while all the rest of plate boundaries appear

Only the first dock of plates, the other type of plate (baseplate, special, ....) has his own upper stud boundaries.

Boundaries are automatically calculated based on split edge loops. New parametric stud geometry has a real bevel and no split edges. Therefore no boundaries. They will slowly disappear from all elements.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !_!

I use mecabricks for EDUCATION LESSON with children from 5 to 12 ages and is absolutely important they can view boudaries...

PLEASE HELP ME and my 70 class room (near 1.600 little mecabriccker!!!!)

We do math and geometry and is very foundamental to see at IWB ( interactive whiteboard) the boudaries !!!

!_!

Boundaries in general will not disappear. Only the upper one on studs.
Just as a side question, why boundaries are so important for these little minions? Is it a learning thing or is it related to the shading mode you use (e.g. flat shading)? With the new system which displays a "fake" bevel, the boundaries are now almost invisible anyway (perfectly sharp edges do not exist in real life), so I am just trying to understand.

The stud must be clearly visible compared to everything else because we use it to count, measure, compare, divide ...
We do not build MOCs but simple modules to discover mathematical and geometric rules, logic exercises and problem solving.

How to insert an image here in forum? I want show you the difficulty for children without boundaries.
In addition there are various children with special educational needs

You can upload your image on imgur.com (no account required) and insert the bbcode provided here in your post.

We must think that they see the image projected on IWB and therefore the vision and intuition of the stud numbers must be clear and simple.
The lack of clear and distinct boundaries slows down the formation of the intuition of numbers, geometric shapes and mathematical logical situations.
We tire their eye on something they don't need right now and the intuition of the solution slows down.

All the boundaries (especially those of the studs) are important for educational use.
I am a pedagogist and I use mecabricks in my courses at school and I teach to use it also to the teachers for their lessons.

whireframe, on the other hand, is too complicated and distracting for children's vision

Clear your browser cache to get the latest version of the code and you may have a good surprise. Enjoy 😉

Ohhhhh!!! what a wonderful surprise!

MANY THANKS !!!
I'm really grateful to you SCRUBS !

Thank you for understanding our educational needs.

We could collaborate and put some of our lessons with mecabricks available to all.

Dear Scrubs, as you know, I am a pedagogist and I use bricks in lessons using an innovative teaching method.

I often use mecabrick in the classroom creating small cooperative learning challenges.

I would have some suggestions for you to edit Mecabrick, and create a MecaBrickEducation (MBE) version

MBE will be very useful both now in COVID19 time (using real bricks requires a lot of sanitization work right now) and in the future.

In fact, the changes that I would propose make MecaBrick a very attractive platform for teachers of many schools and especially all over the world as the language of the bricks is universal.

I am available to explain this innovative teaching project!
