Rendering Section Rules

Mecabricks is not an image sharing platform. Each artwork posted shall be carefully crafted and well composed. The purpose of this section is to showcase your best work only. Always favour quality over quantity.

Acceptable Entry Content

  • You must be the original creator of all images you submit. You may not submit an image made by, or on behalf of, someone else unless you have the authorization.
  • When using a background image, ensure that you have the appropriate rights. For instance, images from Google Image may be subject to copyright.
  • Image can only be posted once. If it is relevant to multiple models, carefully choose one only.

Entry Quality Standards

  • Image shall be computer generated using Mecabricks online render mode or any other third party 3D software like Blender. Screenshots from the Mecabricks workshop are not allowed.
  • Image background shall not be transparent.
  • Image shall bring something special to the 3D model.
  • Image shall be related to the model it is posted in.
  • Image shall not depict minifigures only unless there is something special that shall be explained. Adding a couple of bricks in the background is not considered a waiver.
  • Image resolution shall be greater than or equal to 1920x1080.

Moderation

  • Any images not following the rules will be deleted without any warnings.
  • Images do not disappear. If a render has been taken down by an admin do not post it again.

External services

To showcase images not following the Mecabricks rules for the render section, you have the possibility of using external hosting services like imgur.com which doesn't require any account. Upload your image and copy and paste the BBCode provided in a Mecabricks comment. It shall look like the following:

You should be able to unzip a file from inside your File Explorer window. If you go into the file there is a large button for it.
You may be using a Mac though, in which case it might be different 😉

Double clicking on the zip file shall do the job on most system.

Thanks for your help. @Scrubs I have tried double clicking on the zip file, but it doesn't work for some reason. By the way, two more of my renders were taken off again this morning. Please can you tell me what was wrong with them? Please? I really need to know what I'm doing wrong so I don't keep wasting my time. I understand that you are busy, but if you could tell me asap I would be very grateful. I have tried to make them as good quality as possible using the free MecaBricks renders. Here they are (I hope):

This is my first time adding an image, so I really hope it worked. Many thanks.

hi! I can tell you didnt put much effort into them... you should be actually spending time on it. instead of a few minutes.
It should be things your proud of posting, that you put ALOT of hard work into.

Everything is in the first post of this thread.
Here are examples of galleries with Calierti or MrmoTarius. It doesn't have to be of this standard but it shall at least bring something to the real time 3D model.

Hello @Scrubs thanks for getting back to me. I'm not sure what you mean by "Bringing something special to the 3D model" because don't all renders make the models look muck better? Thank you @Citrine for your KIND and TACTFUL words (sarcasm intended). Rendering is still very new to me, so every render I make I put effort into because I'm still learning. Please be compassionate to me and not harsh. I'm also not sure how to make my renders better (for free) because I only know the basics. I'm also proud to share any of my renders because rendering is an achievement to me.

@Scrubs does this count as "bringing something special to the 3D model"? I know you said that no renders including just minifigs unless it brings something special to them that shall be explained, is this the right quality/standard that would be OK to post on MB? And yes, @Citrine I did put effort into this one, as it was my first render. I appreciate that you are far more skilled and advanced than me at this stage.

Many thanks for your time 😃

that looks much better! I would say that definitely brings something!!

Hey @MegaFearlessDragon. reason why I wasnt the nicest is because if you dont remember, earlier, I spent a good chunk of time writing something to teach you how to improve your renders. just for you to ignore it and continue off not taking any of the input.

@MegaFearlessDragon, you just need to put that in spooky location with fog or something, and it'd be PERFECT. It's also great the way it is, if you want the spooky blankness feel.

Thank you @PyrokineticNinjaMaster for your kind comment! Unfortunately I don't know how to add custom backgrounds to my renders 😦 I only know how to colour the floor and background. @Scrubs would this render be OK to add to the model (when I publish it of course) or do I have to wait until I learn how to add a custom background?

@Citrine, if you remember I did thank you for your help with the renders. I didn't ignore it. I actually don't know how to put more effort into my renders because I only know the basics. I don't use Blender, so I can't make really advanced renders on there. I really did appreciate your help. So I'm sending you gratitude again. It made me try to make my basic renders the best quality I could with my little knowledge. If you take a look at my renders on page 4 that PyrokineticNinjaMaster put on for me, you will see that they are slightly fuzzy. After you helped me I tried to make my renders better quality. I'm sorry that my lack of progress so far has frustrated you.

By the way, how much money is it (in GB£) per render if I wanted to pay for some? Many thanks.

Oh gosh, why didn't I see this before?! This explains why all but one of my renders have been taken down... sorry Scrubs!

Sorry Scrubs....

Is there a way to change the width and hight of the render? Like, if I wanted to final image to come out having a width of 1280 and a hight of 720?

Yes! It’s right below in the main render settings.

@Snap... I think I tried that... and it didn't work... 😕 I'm trying to submit a LEGO Ideas project, but it keeps saying me width and hight aren't the right size.

Hmm, you might have to use credits for it, if you do it a certain way...

What are credits... 😆

Oooooooh.... money... cough cough well I'm not going to be doing that 😂

😂 I might try it out in the future... 😏
