Errors with importing. Add-on complications
cuzzo started this discussion in Model Export and Render

I used the free add-on to import a part into blender and it worked fine but when i try to import another part into the same file Im getting a "location: <unknown location>😶1" error. Something wrong with the location of the add-on file in the blender directory it seems.

File "C:UsersmattmAppDataRoamingBlender FoundationBlender2.80scriptsaddonsmecabricks_init_.py"
line 285 in execute return import_mecabricks....etc

Not sure if the add-on just cant import more parts into a blender file that was already made from an imported part.

I am having the same error on my end, is there a fix for this? I am using Blender 2.83. Thank you!

As long as the model previously imported was with the same version, it works.

I'm on blender 2.92 and I can't import zmbx files.

Answered your email. That is a permission issue on your system preventing Blender to write files.

I use Blender 2.92 and I had to run it as an administrator. That should fix the issue.

The lego stuff that I import are huge, is it normal for these to be huge or is there something wrong?

It's normal.

It is not huge if you set the units correctly. Mecabricks uses mm but Blender default is m.

@Scrubs: While the scaling / unit issue is clearly on blenders side you might consider an option to add to your importer to scale down by units (I.e. 0.01). I think it’ll reduce your the number of these questions drastically.

Anyway. Great work. Keep it up!
