Testing Blender 2.8
ControlAltBrick started this discussion in Bug Reporting

Hi,

i'm just experimenting with minifigs, i think i encountered this bug:

https://developer.blender.org/T58301

I want to upload a .blend file to help them see what is going on.

The question is, am i allowed to share a .blend file produced with the advanced plugin? 😃

Hello,
I would rather not as you will share my textures and material setup. If you manage to isolate the error and remove everything that is not needed. It may be ok. Would be better if I could check first.

Oh ok so it was not a bad idea to ask.
I'll tell you how to reproduce it so you can do what you think it is more appropriate (i'm a newbie on shaders, i'm sure you will go alot faster on creating a simplified test case).

I was just using Emmet and the problem is on the head and the chest, but i guess all the minifigs have some kind of problem with 2.8
With Subsurface Scattering turned ON: in the preview the textures are just blurry, in the final render they disappear.
You obtain the same effect in the preview by turning ON "Separate Albedo" option.

So there are 2 problems we need to report:

  1. "Separate Albedo" seems always ON in the final render (and also ON if you make a viewport render)
  2. "Separate Albedo" is not working as expected in this case

PS: i messed up randomly the shader to further verify 1)

If you want, you can send me by email your file with a couple of screenshots to highlight the issues. I may be able to make a file you could use to report the bugs to blender.

I packed all in a zip and uploaded to Mega 😃
PS: checked on 2 different machines with the same result

Please do not write email addresses in the forum. That is the best way to receive even more spam.
