Hide Gizmo in 3D view/snapshots
Davdup started this discussion in Help and Tips

Hi!
just a quick question... is there a way to hide the 3Dgizmo when doing a screenshot where you have one part or submodel selected (in dark red)?
Thanks!

Not without any tricks. I can give you some code to enter in the console of your browser or you can attach it to a part outside of the viewport area.

Oh yes it would be great! Your tool is really fantastic, you can be proud of it!!

I just understood what you meant by "attaching it to a part outside of the viewport"! In fact I want to select a submodel in the viewport, to highlight it in dark red, and take a snapshot of this, but without the Gizmo... I think the piece of code is the only solution here?

Add a single part and move it far away from your model, make a group of that single part. This group will now get it's origo form this single part. Now add your submodel to this group. If you select the group it should be red but the origo with the gizmo should be outside of your view? Haven't been able to try it myself but I think it will work?

Not too sure I understand the issue 😛

  1. Add a random part far away (outside of your screenshot).
  2. Select the groups/parts you want to be selected on your screenshot and select the random part as well.
  3. Attach the gizmo to the random part.
  4. Take the screenshot
