Bendifig Package BETA Testing
Krisego started this discussion in Community

Hello, today I am presenting a modeled-from-scratch bendy minifigure package I created. The purpose of this forum is to have people try out so I can fix issues or add new features to the package. Just send me a private message and I will send you a copy of it. Also, please note that this package is not in its entirety yet, so it is still a work in progress. 😛

It may be very difficult to see the Bendifigs in this render, but I thought I would just post it here anyway. 😉

SPOILER ALERT In the next big update (Version 7.0), a new Material system will be put into place to allow decoration compatibility for Mecabricks UV maps, courtesy of Scrubs and NGCHunter2. The BETA testing is beginning to near its end. I would like to thank all of the BETA testers for their hard work. I plan to have this package available for purchase by the end of next year at the latest. Stay tuned for more BETA testing programs! 😄

Here is a render I did with Bendifig 6.3. This was my first attempt at a custom face texture, so it obviously didn't turn out well. 😦

SPOILERS! This update includes UV compatibility for all of the minifigure parts besides the arms.

We are now nearing the final stages of the BETA testing, this is one of the last "big" updates. Thank you, everyone, for your participation in this program, without testers like you, this package would not be where it is today. 😃

Thanks for the INCREDIBLE bendifig 7.0!

btw, what is your method for putting other bricks in the scene? (i.e. hair, jetpack, etc.)

Take any model from Mecabricks, export it as a . obj format, import it to Blender, and scale it by a 0.1 factor. Should be compatible then. If you haven't already seen the other testing forum I started, in working on developing a Bigfig.

Bendifig 7.0 has been proven to be compatible with 2.8 Eevee render engine!

Due to a suggestion by NGCHunter2, I decided to try out and see if the Bendifig works correctly (materials, etc.) in Blender 2.8 (Cycles included) and Eevee. Turns out, no changes have to be made to the Bendifig (not even the materials!) for the Bendifig to be compatible with Eevee.

News Update!
The Bendifig was originally set to release sometime around Fall of 2019, but, due to the time barrier being suddenly and unexpectantly removed, the Bendifig will be released as soon as the BETA testing program is finished. So, BETA testers, do your stuff and let's make this happen! 😛

Great to hear! 😃

News Update
Due to a misunderstanding between the support team on the Blender Market and I, the release date for the Bendifig has been moved back to sometime in the Fall of 2019

BETA Tester Commission!
I have a project I would like all of you BETA testers to complete before me. For the product page, I want to show a few renders of what people have made with the Bendifig. I plant to put them all into a collage to demonstrate how easy it is to pick up and use the package. I would like to have around 10 renders in total. It would be very nice to get them ASAP.

Thanks in advance,
-Samino
