have you ever made a model but realized that a printed tile or minifigure part is not the right color that you need? well, if you add a button to recolor things then you could do that! like turning a yellow head to a skin colored one.
This unfortunately does not work with the current method for decorations. 😕

You can replace decal textures with your own textures in Blender, so at least renderings with custom textures (and even custom parts or impossible minifig postures such as bended legs) are possible.
