Shiny Bricks In Blender
fictitiouspasta started this discussion in Model Export and Render

Hello, I have been rendering for awhile now, and I feel like I am at a moderate level. However, I still can't get my bricks looking photo-realistic because of how shiny they appear. Is this just something I can change with material sliders, lighting in the scene, or something else all together. Thanks, Pasta.

Do you use your own setup mecabricks add-on?

@Scrubs I use the advanced add-on with a custom world lighting HDRI. My issue is with rubber mostly, how it will have a reflection sometimes. I understand that most things have some form of reflection, but sometimes it is a bit much. Could that come from the HDRI?

Can you crop an area of an image where you think something is not as you expect? This is generally easier to explain than with words.

@Scrubs I think I might have figured it out. Going through my settings, I noticed that my script was not the updated version. Come to find out, I had missed around 11 updates to the script. I replaced it and things are working better now. Thanks for your time helping 😃

Oh! Yes, this is a proper Blender add-on now and materials are reworked all the time 😉
