Trying to create corners causes pieces in unnatural location.

I am trying to create a basic house to learn. I'm able to create a straight wall, but to create a corner and side wall I hit issues. I am rotating a piece to fit onto the edge, but it continues to only overlap half way. Am I doing something wrong?

Hello,
A screenshot would be helpful to better answer your question. You can use https://imgur.com and use the bbcode to directly embed the image in the forum.

As you can see the corners do not lineup. I know i'm missing some trick, but can't figure it out.

You'll have to manually move the parts so they fit. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard or drag the red and blue arrows. The medium grid size will move half a stud sideways. Up and down the medium grid will move the part 1/3 of the height.

I pretty much never use the large grid. For this type of simple construction, use the medium grid.

I have tried moving the piece, but it seems to only jump to be centered in the wrong place.

I switched grid size, that makes sense. It would be nice if there was a way to snap to a 90 degree angle. Oh well, thanks for your help.
