This happens in both the latest stable versions of Chrome and Firefox. On Chrome, simply going to the Workshop, the page will say "Your browser or graphics card does not support WebGL", and Chrome itself will say "Rats! WebGL hit a snag!". Upon a refresh of the page, the Workshop loads correctly. After that, the Workshop will crash eventually. It is at this point that the crashing happens the same on Firefox and Chrome. I don't know how else to help narrow it down, because the crashing is inconsistent. Sometimes the viewport will display blank gray while I'm in the Open Model dialog. Other times, I'll place a new brick in the viewport, move it around a bit, and then the viewport will display blank gray. Still other times, the entire UI disappears and WebGL crashes.
I doubt this is relevant because WebGL should function the same everywhere, but I'm on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
This looks like it is more an issue with your computer configuration and probably your graphic card driver. I tested it on multiple machines under ubuntu 16.04 and it worked fine.
Is it also crashing when you view a model with the 3D player only?
Whoops, sorry for not replying sooner. I figured I'd get an email about a forum reply or something, and then forgot about this topic. I haven't been on Mecabricks since reporting this.
No more crashing. I've received kernel and NVIDIA driver updates since reporting. False report. Thanks for all the work you put into this site!
